Our tasting nights in The Lantern Room Restaurant are some of the most rewarding evenings for the kitchen team.
They allow us to showcase a season at its very best while creating something truly memorable for our guests.
Last night’s ‘Coastal Spring’ menu was a fantastic success, with a seafood-led tasting experience that celebrated both the freshness and delicacy of flavours from the coast. A particular highlight was the barbecue squid, layered with complex flavours of wild garlic & smokiness from the grill. The sauce so delicious a number of tables requested extra bread to savour every last bit!
Another stand-out was the Native barbecued Lobster, finished in a rich lobster & wild herb broth, bringing balance and depth to the dish.
We received exceptional feedback from the guests, and will now use many of these flavours and ingredients to inspire our menus over the coming weeks.
We’re already looking forward to welcoming guests back for our next tasting evening, ‘Garden Abundance’ a celebration of British summertime with vibrant berries, fragrant elderflower, seasonal herbs, and the very best produce of the season.
